WHAT THINGS SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY MOVE?
There is a variety of things you can do to prepare for your move. Our experienced moving agents will provide you with instructions and help you get started with the process. From making a list of your belongings, to estimating costs, to packing your boxes, you will have our support during every step of your move.
WHAT IS A BINDING ESTIMATE?
When you arrange to work with Trinity Van Lines, we will provide you with a binding estimate. This is an exact cost for moving services and guarantees your final charges will not increase or decrease regardless if your final weight is more or less than estimated. A binding estimate covers the goods and services listed on the written estimate, as well as the accompanying inventory.
WHAT IS AN ORDER FOR SERVICE?
An Order for Service is one of the documents that is required when a person is moving from one state to another. The moving company must provide this document to its customer. It is an official legal document and before an interstate moving company receives a shipment of household goods, the company must prepare the Order for Service.
AM I PROTECTED AGAINST LOSS OR DAMAGE WHILE MY GOODS ARE IN TRANSIT?
You are protected against loss or damage during a move. However, the amount of protection is contingent upon the option you choose on the household goods bill of lading. A moving agent will review this information with you when you are arranging your move, so you will understand what protection you are entitled to before your move begins.
WHERE DO I BEGIN?
Once you know that you have to move the simplest thing to do is call us and let us help you. We will be your Guide and Advocate throughout the process. One of our Senior Moving Consultants can answer all of your questions. We can explain each step of the move and what needs to be done. During that call you can choose what services you want us to perform, what the costs will be and then what projects you want to take on yourself to save money. We can do it all or only the move….It is completely up to you. Then, when you are ready we can set up your move.
DO YOU MOVE LONG DISTANCE? HOW ABOUT SHORT MOVES?
Yes, Trinity provides long distance interstate moves throughout the U.S. We also provide shorter moves as long as the move is across State Lines…No matter how big or small.
ARE THERE THINGS TRINITY WON’T MOVE?
By law, we are prohibited from moving certain things such as containers with extremely flammable liquids, many household cleaning chemicals, fireworks and guns. Contact us and we will let you know if you have things that cannot be moved by us.
CAN TRINITY HELP ME PACK? OR CAN I PACK MYSELF AND JUST HAVE TRINITY MOVE ME?
Yes, Trinity provides professional packing services so that you do not have to pack when you move. Our packers are trained to work efficiently and use best practices ensure your goods are ready to travel safely. Of course, you can do your own packing. Or you can pack some of your items and we can pack some of your items…It is completely up to you.
WILL TRINITY PROVIDE PACKING MATERIALS?
Yes, Trinity uses professional grade packing materials to prepare your items for transport. We also provide these materials to you at competitive prices if you prefer to do your own packing or we can refer you to local sources for these materials.
CAN TRINITY MOVE MY PETS?
We want to make sure all of your belongings get safely to your new home. Trinity does not specialize in Pet Moving but we can recommend companies who do. Or you may be able to move your own pet.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MOVE MY HOUSE PLANTS?
This depends on many different factors, like: what type of plant, how far are they traveling, travel time, time of year, weather, storage time, etc. Please ask your Trinity Moving Consultant to help you understand what we can move safely for you.
DO I NEED MOVING INSURANCE TO COVER MY MOVE?
Trinity will take great care in helping prevent loss or damage to your goods. However, in the event something unforeseen should happen, we always recommend that you are fully protected. There are options for insurance and other types of protection which we can help to make sure your valuables get from your current home to your new home with as little risk possible. Ask your Senior Moving Consultant.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DOES TRINITY ACCEPT?
Moving times fill up fast, in order to guarantee your booking time/date we will require a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable up until 7 business days prior to your move, at which time we will call you to verify the details of your move and make any last minute adjustments so that the move goes just the way you want. You will pay the remainder of your move either when your goods are loaded onto the truck or when you receive your goods at your new home. Payment methods are: wire transfer, ACH, cash, credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Diners Club) or personal/certified check.
HOW DOES TRINITY CALCULATE THE PRICE FOR MY MOVE?
TRINITY determines the cost of your move based on the Cubic Footage, weight and distance it will travel. All of our Carriers have Tariffs that we work from to determine the best cost per mile. You can also choose more services which will be added onto the base cost of the move. For a precise estimate, your Trinity Moving Consultant will walk you through the process and provide you with a written estimate.

DOES TRINITY MOVE CARS?
Yes, We have companies that will move your care. Who are very experienced at moving cars. Most of our moves have cars that need to be moved as well. We also routinely organize moving trucks, campers, motorcycles, and other large or special items.
WHAT IF I NEED STORAGE FOR SOME THINGS?
Storage goes hand-in-hand with moving. Trinity offers secure storage, for as long as you may need all over the country.
AM I PROTECTED AGAINST LOSS OR DAMAGE WHILE MY BELONGINGS ARE IN TRANSIT?
By Federal Law All shipments are automatically afforded a minimal protection, valued at 60 cents per pound. We recommend Full coverage insurance, which ensures repair or replacement in the event an item is lost or damaged. Your Senior Moving Consultant will discuss this with you at the time of order.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY EXPENSIVE ITEMS?
To guarantee the protection of your most prized possessions, We recommend taking your small, high-value items and things with personal or sentimental value with you personally when you move.
